Checking and Changing Oil To avoid engine damage, it is important to: · Check oil level before each use and every 5 operating hours. · Change oil after first 2 operating hours and every 25 operating hours thereafter; more often if operated in extremely dusty or dirty conditions. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away from spark plug by attaching it securely to grounding post. Carefully remove spark plug wire from grounding post and connect to spark plug. Removing Snow from Engine After each use, remove snow from the following areas: · Oil fill cap · Fuel fill cap · Linkage · Cooling Fins Removing snow will ease operation of the recoil starter rope and reduce the risk of water contamination when opening oil and fuel fill caps. Replace spark plug if porcelain is cracked or if electrodes are: · Pitted · Burned · Fouled with deposits 4. Check electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and set gap to . 030 (0. 76mm) if necessary.
